Simplify the process of logging in to apps and websites
First, there was a copy/paste
The most important aspect of your experience with a password manager is the actual process of logging in to apps and services. You don't need to (or expected to) remember all of your passwords. The very essence of a password manager is that you only need to remember one Key Phrase.

So how do you log in using a password manager?
You can copy your credentials in the AltoPass app and paste them into the app or service you are logging into. It's much better than typing it in manually, but still not ideal.

Luckily there's a better way!
Then came Autofill
Modern mobile platforms support the Autofill Feature. This allows password managers to integrate with the operating system and add hooks to login screens of other apps and web browser pages. Usually, the app will show a small AltoPass pop-up right underneath the username field. Upon selecting the right account, both username and password fields will be automatically filled in. Consequently, you don't need to worry about switching back and forth between the AltoPass app and your account while also having to copy/paste your credentials.

Mobile platforms require the user to authorize a specific application for the role of the autofill source. AltoPass provides detailed guidelines on how to enable autofill. Go to Settings->Autofill in your mobile app and follow the steps.
Web Autofill and Chrome Extension
Autofill is a well-developed concept in the world of mobile apps. However, for the web browser logins on desktop/laptop computers we had to set up some special steps to achieve the same level of convenience.

In order to take advantage of the autofill in a web browser on your computer, you will need to install the AltoPass browser extension. This extension works as an add-on to the AltoPass Web Client and provides similar autofill functionality in the browser tabs.

At the moment, AltoPass provides a browser extension for the Chrome browser only. More browser support is on the way.
